We Better the Lives of Children in Need

Many children in our local community find themselves without the family support most of us take for granted.  They are often orphaned or their parents cannot provide for them.  This is where C.C.F. comes into play.  Children enter our care as young as age 4.  Once under our care, we house, feed, and educate the children. Those who are under the age of 14 live at our facility all year and those older than age 14 go to boarding school for part of the year.

We strongly beleive in developing the entire individual child.  The children also learn skills while at CCF which will serve them throughout their lives such as farming, handicrafts skills, and animal husbandry.

We help the orphans/vulnerable children in different ways by providing:

  • Education and encouraging the pursuit of higher education
  • Food
  • Shelter /clothing
  • Healthcare

We give these basic necessities to vulnerable children living in harsh conditions.

Challenges

  • Our limited physical facility and limited staff prevent us from being able to serve all the children in our local community who are truly in need of our services.
  • Being an NGO means we do not get financial support from the government.
  • We have limited funds to support other necessities.
  • Lack of critical infrastructure (incinerator, water filter, enough physical structures,  etc.) makes fulfilling our mission more challenging on a daily basis.
  • We continue to struggle to attract enough sponsorships/donations from visitors.
  • In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic decimated the safari tourism industry in Tanzania, cutting C.C.F off from its largest financial supporters.

Goals/Future Plans

  • Expand our Poultry Project
  • Construct staff and administration offices
  • Construct staff quarters and a volunteer guest house
  • Construct training schools for skills such as: Animal husbandry, Agriculture, Welding, Tailoring, and Electrical work
  • Purchase vehicles for greater transportation of both child and staff
  • Build our own school

How we Select the Children

  • From the Community seeking help waiting to be approved by the Government Department of the Social Welfare.
  • We reach out to the community to find children in need and then get them cleared by the Department of Social Welfare in Tanzania so they can be under our care.

Our Main Sources of Income

  • Our main source of revenue is donations from tourists as well as child sponsorships
  • We gain some revenue from trade projects such as gardening, animal husbandry, and bead product crafts
  • We also get small grants and monetary gifts
