Volunteer with Children Concern Foundation

Children concern Foundation center is a Non-Governmental Organization registered with the number 000NGO000/3852under the law-governed NGOs of the United Republic of Tanzania, the home of 36 children vary in age from 3 years and above, we provide orphans and vulnerable children with scholastic materials, health services, shelter, and clothes. Our volunteer program has been designed to deal with cultural diversity, invitation of new ideas, experiences exchange, but also a source of income which will support our children in the provision of their needs.

Location -The organization is located close to the cultural marketing town in Mto wa Mbu, Monduli Arusha Tanzania. It is 145 km from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Children Concern Foundation.

How to reach there.

From Kilimanjaro International Airport:

  • If you arranged with us we will pick you up any time after knowing your arrival time.
  • You can take a cab from the airport to destiny point which is Mto wa Mbu but it is expensive.

From Arusha City

  • You can take a cab from Arusha city to our center
  • You can take public transport from the bus station at Arusha city ask to go Karatu and droop at Kigongoni.

What we expect from Volunteers

  • To teach simple English, Math, and arts
  • To promote healthy hygiene culture
  • To organize recreational sports and games such as storytelling, songs, and more.
  • To assist managerial activities such as fundraising, proposal writing, and marketing.
  • To involve in meal preparation, dishwashing, washing clothes, and more.

Our main activities

  • To provide a home for orphans and vulnerable children.
  • To provide health services regular check-up and when they fall sick
  • To provide food, clothes, and other basic needs aiming to ensure their enjoyment of life.
  • To provide simple skills such as poultry care and gardening for self-reliance in the future.
  • To promote recreational sports and games aiming to strengthen the health of children.

Program Duration

  • 1 day -8 weeks but you can add as you wish
  • Program start date; Any time
  • Work Timetable: Monday –Friday with 6-8 hours a day.
  • Requirements; Passport, Working permit, yellow fever vaccination, anti-malaria.
  • Price: $ 300 per week, but staying with us for 4 weeks you will pay $ 1000.
  • Include- 3 meals, accommodation and fees, transport from/to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Eligible Volunteer

  • Above eighteen years old such as students, workers and more
  • Below eighteen but accompanied by parents/guardians
  • Retired/Veterans.

Accommodation

We have three ways to accommodate you:

  • To stay with children in a separate room
  • Family stay
  • Stay alone or share a room and house
  • Requirements; Passport, Working permit, yellow fever vaccination, anti-malaria.
  • Price: $ 300 per week, but staying with us for 4 weeks you will pay $1,000.
  • Include- 3 meals, accommodation, and fees, transport from/to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

We can help you to process working permit but also it is not limited too, you can process yourself We can help you to arrange Safaris and Tour Program Children Concern Foundation is located at the gate to famous National Parks such as Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Authority (Crater), Manyara National Parks. Also, we are living in an area where cultural practice, principles, norms, and value are preserved and respected; therefore you will experience much by a volunteer with us.
